Keeping kids off the street one skateboard at a time
We Support Children and Youth to Reach Their Full Potential
What We Do
01.
— We Find & Fund
We travel to various skate parks in the Greater Los Angeles area and find kids who are working hard on their skating skills. We then donate various skate equipment (boards, shoes, wheels, grip tape, etc.) to a random kid.
02.
— We Build Networks
We network with educators, law enforcement, and local businesses to help build a community where kids may safely express themselves.
03.
— We Strengthen
We strengthen children by teaching values such as perseverance, respect, and kindness.
04.
— We Educate
We teach children healthy habits as well as encourage community involvement whether it be through school programs, acts of kindness, or law enforcement engagement. We also motivate students to excel in their academics through giveaways for attendance and grades.
05.
— We Provide Care
During the hot summer months as well as after school, we provide water and healthy snacks to the kids at the skate parks. We also hold giveaways for basic clothing necessities.
06.
— We Have Fun
Through all of our different projects and collaborations, we of course make sure everyone is having fun! Through friendly competition in our tournaments to just hanging out with the community, we hope the kids we work with are enjoying what they do.
What We Care For!
Skate Parks
We travel to various skate parks in underserved communities within the Greater Los Angeles area to hand out skating equipment, clothing, and other basic necessities.
We have partnered with LACorps After School for activities and giveaways at local schools. At our most recent event at Pacoima Middle School the students created puppets to donate to the local library for their weekday reading events for other children.
This was to support our “keep attendance up” initiative where students eligible for the giveaway had to attend school for a pre-determined number of days. We also encourage the students to complete an “act of kindness” prior to the event.
Law Enforcement Collaboration
We strive to help at-risk children find safe and healthy activities to do during their free time after school. We noticed there was a disconnect between the law enforcement community that patrols around the skate parks and the skaters. To mitigate this, we held an event with Pasadena Police Department where our skaters “mugged” their local officers by painting coffee mugs and writing a letter to law enforcement.
Law Enforcement Collaboration
We have also partnered with local law enforcement to hand out skateboards for the kids. We hope this creates an open line of communication between the officers who patrol the parks and the skaters.
Bringing Dreams within Reach
Currently 18% of children in the United States are living in poverty. That’s nearly 13 million kids according to the Annie E. Casey Foundation. A lot of the communities we serve, the kids don’t have proper equipment, go to bed hungry, and some only own ripped up, old clothing. We not only provide skate equipment but also giveaway clothing and shoes, food and water, gift cards, and even school supplies. We aim to help these kids within the skating community.
